Energy efficiency is essential to minimize environmental impacts and promote sustainability. In the Cariri region, characterized by high temperatures, awareness of sustainable construction practices is crucial to reduce energy consumption and improve thermal comfort in homes. This article addresses an initiative to disseminate knowledge about energy efficiency in civil construction, using accessible materials (informative leaflets) and digital platforms (social media posts) to reach the local community. The applied and qualitative research involved interviews with construction professionals and educational campaigns directed at the public. The results indicated a significant gap in knowledge about energy efficiency practices but also revealed a positive community response to educational campaigns. The Instagram profile reached 2,500 interactions in two months, and the leaflets distributed in construction material stores generated interest in sustainable materials. The main challenges identified were the lack of technical training and financial support to implement efficient practices. The research concludes that energy efficiency is a practical and viable solution for sustainability but needs greater dissemination among residents and local professionals. Future work may include the geographical expansion of the research, the development of educational apps, partnerships with educational institutions, and long-term studies to assess the impact of energy efficiency practices. Consolidating a culture of sustainability in the Cariri region depends on the continuous engagement of the community and strategic partnerships.
