Georeferencing and certification of rural properties are essential processes for land regularization in Brazil, promoting legal security and precision in territorial boundaries. This study conducts a detailed analysis of the current legislation governing the georeferencing and certification of rural properties in Brazil. It addresses the laws and regulations requiring territorial boundary accuracy through georeferencing methods, utilizing technologies such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) and platforms like the National Institute for Colonization and Agrarian Reform's Land Management System (SIGEF). The procedures for obtaining the Rural Property Registration Certificate (CCIR) and the importance of adhering to the Brazilian Geodetic System (SGB) and the Geocentric Reference System for the Americas (SIRGAS) are also discussed. The analysis highlights the importance of these practices for the regularization of rural properties, emphasizing the legal, economic, and environmental benefits of this process. Compliance with current legislation and the use of advanced technologies are essential to prevent land disputes. This study thus contributes to the understanding of the legal and technical requirements necessary for the proper application of georeferencing and certification, providing a comprehensive overview of the subject.
