The article "Rural Education and Specialized Educational Services (SES): An Integrated Approach" examines the intersection of these two educational modalities in Brazil, with an emphasis on promoting truly inclusive education in rural contexts. Rural Education aims to value the cultural, social, and economic specificities of rural populations, offering a curriculum that respects and promotes local knowledge. On the other hand, SES is a teaching modality designed to meet the special educational needs of students with disabilities, global developmental disorders, or high abilities, ensuring their full access and participation in the school environment. The integration of these modalities, while necessary, faces considerable challenges, especially in multi-grade schools, where the diversity of ages and learning levels requires innovative and adaptive pedagogical approaches. This study uses a qualitative methodology, based on literature review and document analysis, to investigate the public policies and educational guidelines that guide the implementation of SES in rural schools. The results suggest an urgent need for continuous teacher training, specific curricular adaptations, and greater articulation between inclusion policies and pedagogical practices aimed at the rural context. It concludes that the effective application of SES in rural schools depends on collaborative strategies that consider the particularities of the rural environment and the individual needs of students, promoting inclusive, equitable education capable of contributing to the sustainable development of rural communities. Thus, the article reinforces the importance of contextualized and inclusive education, essential to ensuring the right to education for all students, regardless of their socioeconomic conditions or special educational needs.
