Abstract

This work analyzes the situation of young people who work as professional electronic game players, focusing on working conditions, violated labor rights and existing public policies in Brazil. The research highlights the importance of recognizing eSports as a legitimate sporting modality, given its cognitive and strategic nature, similar to practices such as chess. The historical evolution of the concept of sport, shaped by cultural contexts, corroborates this inclusion, especially in an increasingly technological world. Furthermore, the absence of public policies worsens the vulnerability of young people, limiting diversity and inclusion in the scenario. Parents, often unsure about the viability of eSports as a career, contribute to an environment of financial exploitation. In summary, the project aims to contribute to the debate on the precarious working conditions faced by young people who work with electronic games in Brazil and to the development of public policies that guarantee their labor and social rights..
