This article highlights the nurse in the implementation of effective strategies for health promotion and prevention of falls in the elderly, aiming at healthy aging, improving the recommended actions by focusing on the assessment of the risk of falls, the promotion of changes in life habits and the development of safe and comfortable environments, with the improvement in lifestyle has a significant impact on mobility and independence, being essential for quality of life, and reducing the occurrence of incidents. Methodology: This is a descriptive and qualitative study, which examines scientific literature related to the study topic, directly contributing to the achievement and evolution of patient safety in terms of longevity. Results: • Identification of the main risk factors: Search for physical, environmental and psychosocial elements that increase the danger of falls. Conclusion: In gerontology, the main objective is to preserve independence and autonomy for basic daily activities, which can be directly linked to quality of life.
