THE CONTRIBUTION OF NURSING PROFESSIONALS IN FORENSIC INVESTIGATION

This study addressed the role of the nursing professional as a member of a multidisciplinary team in forensic investigation, highlighting their importance, especially in cases of violence against children and adolescents, as well as violence against women. Their general objective sought to analyze the role of the nurse in forensic nursing regarding their contribution to criminal investigation. And its specific objectives sought to describe the process of evolution of forensic nursing in the global and national scenario; to know the specific skills and abilities for the nurse to work in forensic nursing and to identify the main contributions of the nurse's performance in forensic investigation. Its methodology was based on the qualitative approach, with bibliographic research with a review of works published in the last ten years in national territory, the searches occurred in research platforms such as SciELO and Virtual Health Library (BVS). In view of this, the relevance of the nurse's role in forensic investigation was confirmed, highlighting their ability to gather the first information in the initial contact with victims, especially those victims of violence and in emotional support.
