APPLICABILITY OF THE NURSING PROCESS IN PATIENTS WITH LUNG NEOPLASMS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF WANDA DE AGUIAR HORTA

This article sought to analyze the nursing process in patients with lung neoplasms in the light of Wanda de Aguiar Horta's theory, describing the phases of the nursing process according to its theoretical model and the practical application in the care of neoplastic patients. Methodology: This is bibliographic research with a qualitative approach, data collected in virtual databases. The Virtual Health Library was used in the following information base: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS); Online System for the Search and Analysis of Medical Literature (MEDLINE) and Google Scholar. Results: To evaluate the chain of lung neoplasms and their impact on basic human needs; to dissertate on the nursing process according to the theoretical model of Wanda de Aguiar Horta and its application in the care of patients with neoplasms; to define the main diagnoses, nursing interventions, and expected outcomes in patients with lung cancer; report on recommendations for palliative care in nursing according to the theorist Wanda. Conclusion: The application of the Theory of Basic Human Needs in the context of lung cancer allows a holistic and humanized view of patients, promoting not only symptom control, but also improved quality of life throughout the therapeutic process.
