The article addresses violence against women from a legal and multidimensional perspective, analyzing the evolution of laws, judicial decisions, demographic data, and the social impacts of this phenomenon. The Maria da Penha Law is highlighted as a milestone in the protection of women, although its implementation still faces challenges. The methodology combines qualitative and quantitative analyses, using data from courts and statistics on gender-based violence. The research reveals that the decisions of the Superior Court of Justice have advanced in the protection of victims, but there are still disparities in the application of the law. In addition, the study emphasizes the importance of an interdisciplinary approach and proposes improvements in public policies to ensure the effectiveness of existing laws. The article concludes that it is essential to promote cultural change and strengthen partnerships between government and civil society to combat violence against women effectively.
