This article sought to investigate the increase in obstetric violence from the nurse's point of view. Methodology: This is a systematic review of the literature as a methodology. This method is valued for its ability to examine and organize studies already carried out. Results and discussion: The set of reviewed articles offers a comprehensive view of obstetric violence, a complex problem that involves structural, cultural, and institutional issues in women's health care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. To reduce obstetric violence, it is essential to transform care paradigms, adopting a model that respects women's autonomy and promotes the acceptance and appreciation of their choices. Conclusion: In summary, obstetric violence is an urgent public health issue, which requires coordinated action between health professionals, managers, public policies and society. Nursing, with its proximity to daily care, plays a fundamental role in changing this scenario, being able to transform the experience of childbirth and postpartum through more respectful and humanized practices.
