CARDIOVASCULAR DYSFUNCTIONS AND THE PULSE OF HYPERTENSION IN THE YOUNG ADULT POPULATION: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Introduction: The World Health Organization (WHO) states that cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are one of the leading causes of death worldwide. One of the risk factors and diseases associated with these ailments is systemic arterial hypertension. (HAS). Hypertension is increasingly affecting young adults and having a significant impact on public and social health, as this comorbidity brings physical consequences, such as the likelihood of premature death. Despite the existing reality, CVDs have become part of the pathophysiology of considerably healthy adults, in accordance with still premature studies, which show that an effectively active population has been targeted by hypertension, a comorbidity that affects older ages and has become a public health concern. Objective: To quantify the prevalence and incidence of hypertension in young adults, seeking to recognize this reality, as well as its possible associated factors. Method: Systematic literature review according to the PRISMA statement, using the Lilacs, Medline databases contained in BVS and PubMed, highlighting additional scientific articles published in scientific journals to enhance the investigation. Result: The data analysis demonstrated that there is an incidence in the number of young adults affected by hypertension tabulated in the research, highlighting disabilities, lifestyle changes, and adverse consequences. Final considerations: The concern for the future generation proves this investigation that eagerly, the nuances presented in this phenomenology of the state of health and disease in young adults bring alarming forecasts in the long term for public and individual health.
