This article sought to investigate nurses' practices, challenges, and strategies in preventing CVC infections. This study is a bibliographical research with a qualitative approach. The main points found highlight that nurses play a fundamental role in the implementation of clinical protocols, leading teams, promoting training, and ensuring adherence to guidelines to guarantee safe and effective practices. Continuing education is essential to keep the team updated and prepared, with simulations that reinforce learning and increase safety. In addition, interdisciplinary communication, facilitated by nurses, promotes collaboration, improves care coordination, and prevents incidents, resulting in better patient outcomes. In conclusion, nurses play a vital role in the implementation of infection prevention protocols, being fundamental to patient safety. Continuing professional training and institutional support are essential to face emerging challenges, maintaining high quality standards in care, and promoting safety in the hospital environment.
