This study aimed to analyze the impacts of assistive technology on the school inclusion of students with disabilities, focusing on the benefits, challenges, and importance of teacher training. The overall objective was to investigate how assistive technology can contribute to the school inclusion process, improving academic performance and student participation. The methodology adopted was a qualitative bibliographic review, with analysis of articles and books on the subject, highlighting the main contributions and limitations identified in existing research. The results showed that assistive technology facilitates access to educational content, promotes autonomy, and contributes to a collaborative environment between students with and without disabilities. However, challenges were also observed, such as the lack of adequate training for educators, the scarcity of financial resources, and resistance to the adoption of new technologies. The analysis indicated that ongoing teacher training is a key factor for the successful implementation of assistive technology in schools. The final considerations pointed out that, despite the advances, the full implementation of assistive technology still faces barriers that need to be overcome through investment, training, and adaptation of resources to the needs of students. It was suggested that new studies delve deeper into the specific challenges of different educational contexts.
