Bovine brucellosis is considered one of the main zoonoses that drastically affects the health of livestock, thus generating major economic losses, as well as increasing risks to public health. In view of the above, this study seeks to answer the following question: how can good management practices be implemented more effectively to prevent bovine brucellosis in Brazil? This study aims to analyze and identify these good practices, with emphasis on management and vaccination actions, to reduce the occurrence of the disease. The methodology used includes a bibliographic review of scientific articles, verification of the standards of regulatory agencies, as well as dialogues with professionals in the area. The results of the study indicate that preventive measures, such as mandatory vaccination, together with the adoption of appropriate management practices, monitoring and periodic testing, have favored the attenuation of the incidence of the disease. However, the acceptance and commitment of many producers in carrying out these actions is still a major challenge in some regions.
