Down Syndrome (DS) is a genetic condition caused by a chromosomal abnormality, specifically the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 21, also known as trisomy 21. This genetic alteration results in distinct physiological and anatomical characteristics in affected individuals, which may contribute to delayed motor development. This article aims to compare physiotherapeutic interventions such as the Bobath method and hippotherapy in trunk control in children with DS between 6 months and 10 years of age. Forty-two articles searched on trusted websites were selected for this bibliographic research, where 17 articles were excluded because they were not on topic or were from years younger than 2019, thus totaling 25 articles included in this research. Results Equine therapy and the Bobath method, together or separately, can complement each other in the treatment of people with Down Syndrome, offering a global and effective approach to promote motor, social, emotional and cognitive development.
