Pelvic physiotherapy is a specialty of physiotherapy that focuses on the evaluation and treatment of the muscles, ligaments and connective tissues of the pelvic floor, and during urinary incontinence (UI) in the postpartum period of vaginal delivery, it becomes indispensable in the rehabilitation process. The methodology used to prepare this publication is generally classified as a qualitative, descriptive research, which seeks to detail that pelvic physiotherapy in the postpartum period can bring benefits to women who face this reality, in which electronic databases such as LILACS, BIREME, SCIELO, and the Virtual Health Library were used. About 25% to 75% is the statistic of UI in pregnancy and in the vaginal postpartum period, resulting from the decrease in the strength of the pelvic floor muscle, which can also cause psychological problems and social isolation. It is clear that pelvic physiotherapy is indispensable during the process of urinary incontinence in the postpartum period of vaginal delivery.
