Hydrogen, which is represented by the symbol H in the periodic table, is a flammable gas that, when it comes into contact with oxygen, can form water. The purpose of this study was to carry out a review of energy production from hydrogen. The review of the technical-scientific literature revealed that the discovery of the use of hydrogen as a fuel is relatively recent and offers significant perspectives for the coming years. However, its storage is currently one of the main limitations for its large-scale use as a fuel source. In this context, several studies are still underway to improve its storage, with the aim of consolidating its future applicability.
