Abstract

The article in question analyzed the effectiveness of guaranteeing the application of the principle of human dignity in the Brazilian prison system during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, the study proposed to address the principles guaranteed to all citizens, carrying out a special approach to those in prison, who presented greater conditions of vulnerability due to hygiene issues and overcrowding in prisons. Also highlighting the obligations of the state entity to guarantee the safety and health of inmates, in compliance with the provisions of the Federal Constitution and international treaties to which Brazil is a signatory.
