The safety and well-being of nursing professionals are fundamental to the quality of health services, especially in the Unified Health System (SUS), where high demand and limited resources make biosafety a priority. Work-related accidents negatively impact the physical and mental health of these professionals, affecting the quality of patient care and resulting in occupational injuries and diseases. Despite their crucial role in health promotion and disease prevention, there is a scarcity of studies that specifically address work-related accidents in nursing, which limits the formulation of prevention policies. The analysis of the literature reveals gaps in protocols and resources available to nurses after accidents, highlighting the need for research that focuses on post-accident care and biosafety. This study aims to conduct a literature review on biosafety in nursing, identifying practices that promote the protection of professionals and the implementation of protocols that minimize accidents in the workplace.
