Abstract

The beauty of human beings is intrinsically related to the appearance of hair in all eras and cultures. Hair loss can be caused by factors such as hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies and medical conditions. Vitamin B12 is essential for hair health, contributing to the production of red blood cells and oxygen transport, which strengthens hair and reduces hair loss. The main objective is to analyze the possibilities present in the literature about vitamin B12 deficiency and its influence on the increase in problems related to hair loss. When it comes to hair health, vitamin B12 is particularly important as it helps hair follicles divide and grow normally as hair cells regenerate quickly. To carry out this research, an integrative review was carried out, concluding that the effectiveness of topical treatments for hair loss depends on the penetration of the medication, and biomedical guidance is essential to avoid side effects. The final choice must be made by the patient under medical supervision.
