Abstract

Introduction: The use of tobacco through electronic cigarettes by young people has become increasingly significant over the years, even though smoking is the main cause of preventable death worldwide, being responsible for the deaths of approximately 8 million of people annually. Objective: This research aimed to verify the number of individuals between 14 and 30 years of age who are or have already used this product. Materials and Methods: This research used virtual questionnaires to carry out it. Data collection was carried out using the Google Forms application. To collect the data of interest, a virtual questionnaire was created, consisting of nine multiple-choice questions. Result: The results found indicate that 94.30% of participants are aware of electronic cigarettes, with 60.6% of these having already used this product at some point, also pointing out that 41.2% of these participants have used the friends' induction electronic cigarette. Conclusion: When analyzing the results, we concluded that the number of electronic cigarette users is significant, and that the work of health professionals is essential as a means of preventing and treating smoking.
