Abstract

This paper addresses a highly relevant construct in the context of Human Resource Management in today's organizations: the commitment of individuals to the organization. To develop this research, a literature review on the subject was conducted, and therefore the theoretical focus was considered. Organizational behavior is a field of study that seeks to deepen knowledge about the variables produced by individuals, groups, structure and culture on behavior within organizations with the purpose of subsidizing the improvement of the effectiveness of organizational management. To strengthen employee commitment, it is suggested that organizations invest in management policies and strategies that promote a culture and an organizational climate that contemplate the human, affective factor, in its multiple dimensions and needs, in order to contribute to strengthening the affective bond of employees. At the same time, management policies can be sought that take into account the other factors described in this study as multidimensional, to minimize absenteeism and turnover and effectively contribute to the identification of individuals with organizational values, strengthening the emergence of normative and instrumental commitment, considering the broad business benefits arising from a body of motivated employees committed to the organization.
