Introduction: Chronic Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (CPID) is characterized by infections that affect the female reproductive organs, often resulting in serious complications such as infertility. This condition is often caused by sexually transmitted infections and can lead to scarring of the fallopian tubes, endometriosis, and chronic pain. Infertility, in turn, affects an increasing number of women of reproductive age, raising the need for surgical interventions to treat the complications associated with CPID and improve the chances of pregnancy. Objective: To analyze the implications of CPID in female infertility and to evaluate the effectiveness of surgical treatments available for women facing these gynecological complications. Methodology: The research was carried out based on the PRISMA checklist, using the PubMed, Scielo, and Web of Science databases. Five descriptors were used: Fallopian tubes, Ovaries, Endometriosis, Tubo-ovarian abscess, and Laparoscopic surgery. The selection of articles included those published in the last 10 years. Inclusion criteria included studies that addressed women with CIPD and infertility, articles that detailed surgical interventions, and peer-reviewed publications. Exclusion criteria eliminated studies focused on other gynecological conditions, articles that were not available in full text, and non-original reviews. Results: The analysis revealed that CIPD was closely associated with an increase in female infertility, with surgeries such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy demonstrating efficacy in restoring fertility. Data also indicated that early intervention could minimize permanent damage and improve reproductive outcomes. Conclusion: CIPD represents a significant challenge to women’s reproductive health, and appropriate diagnosis and treatment are crucial. Surgery may be an effective alternative to restore fertility, highlighting the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to managing the condition and its consequences.
