Introduction: Surgical treatment of varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency is an essential field in dermatology, especially in patients with ochre dermatitis. This condition, characterized by skin changes resulting from venous stasis, predominantly affects women and is associated with complications that compromise quality of life. Varicose veins, in addition to causing physical discomfort, can lead to the development of ochre dermatitis, creating a vicious cycle of venous and skin problems that requires an integrated approach for treatment. Objective: To analyze the dermatological evaluation of patients undergoing surgical treatment for varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency, with emphasis on the manifestations of ochre dermatitis. Methodology: The methodology followed the PRISMA checklist to ensure rigor in the selection of studies. The PubMed, Scielo and Web of Science databases were consulted, using the descriptors: Venous hypertension, Edema, Pigmentation, Lipodermatosclerosis and Compression stockings. The inclusion criteria were: articles that addressed surgical treatment of varicose veins in patients with ochre dermatitis, publications from the last 10 years and that included clinical analyses in women. Studies that did not focus on ochre dermatitis, research with animal samples and literature reviews were excluded. Results: The results indicated that surgical treatment can result in significant improvements in the dermatological conditions of patients. A reduction in inflammation and pigmentation associated with ochre dermatitis was observed, in addition to an improvement in quality of life. Minimally invasive interventions, such as sclerotherapy and laser therapy, were shown to be effective in resolving venous and cutaneous symptoms. Conclusion: Surgical treatment of varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency presents relevant clinical benefits in the dermatological evaluation, especially for women with ochre dermatitis. The literature emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to optimize results and promote dermatological health in patients affected by this condition.
