THE GROWTH OF EATING DISORDERS: A BIBLIOGRAPHIC STUDY

Abstract

Several factors contribute to this trend, including social pressure to maintain unrealistic beauty standards, the influence of social media, and emotional issues such as anxiety and depression. Furthermore, the text addresses the physical and psychological consequences of eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating, highlighting the need for early and effective interventions. The role of family, friends and healthcare professionals is emphasized in identifying and supporting affected individuals. The article concludes with the importance of promoting awareness and education about mental health and healthy eating as forms of prevention.
