Abstract

Pressure ulcers represent a significant public health problem, mainly affecting bedridden patients and resulting in increased morbidity, complications and costs of care. This integrative review aims to analyze innovative approaches in the prevention of pressure ulcers in bedridden patients, highlighting emerging technologies, nutritional interventions and educational strategies. The methodology used involved a systematic search in electronic databases, such as PubMed, Scopus and CINAHL, using specific keywords related to interventions for the prevention of pressure ulcers. Analysis of the collected data allows the identification of trends and the effectiveness of the approaches discussed. The results indicate that the implementation of technologies, such as pressure relief devices, together with adequate nutritional interventions and continuous education of the health team, can significantly improve clinical outcomes and reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers. Evidence suggests that a multifaceted approach is essential for the effectiveness in the prevention of these injuries, promoting more effective and humanized care.
