NURSING CARE IN WOMEN WITH GESTATIONAL HYPERTENSION

Introduction: Gestational hypertension is a disease that causes several complications during pregnancy, as it presents a high risk of morbidity and mortality for both the mother and the fetus. Early diagnosis is extremely important for appropriate referrals and care. Objective: To address the nursing care that can be provided in situations of gestational hypertension, in the Family Health Strategy. Method: This descriptive study is an integrative review based on scientific data available in different databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO); Latin and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS); the Nursing Database (BDENF), Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Ministry of Health. Results: Gestational hypertension is considered one of the main complications of the pregnancy cycle-puerperal, with an incidence between 6% and 30% among pregnant women, which results in a high risk of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Emergency care for hypertensive pregnant women are: monitoring vital signs, assessing blood pressure, keeping the environment calm, instructing on the relevance of reporting symptoms such as headache, visual changes, dizziness and pain, puncturing and maintaining peripheral venous access, according to medical prescription. Conclusion: Pregnant women with hypertension are considered vulnerable and, therefore, require greater attention from nursing, requiring greater technical knowledge from professionals who work with pregnant women.
