This literature review gathered articles published preferably in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese in the last five years in the PUBMED database, aiming to review maneuvers for airway clearance and cardiopulmonary and cerebral resuscitation. The airway and cardiopulmonary and cerebral resuscitation (CPR) are crucial in the management of medical emergencies, especially in cases of cardiopulmonary arrest. Rapid airway clearance, with maneuvers such as chin lift or intubation, is essential to avoid hypoxemia and ensure adequate ventilation. CPR, with chest compressions and early defibrillation, aims to maintain cerebral and cardiac perfusion until spontaneous circulation is restored. The chain of survival, which includes immediate CPR and the use of automatic defibrillators, is a guide to increase the chances of survival. Medications such as adrenaline and amiodarone can be used to treat arrhythmias and restore circulation. The quality of CPR, with correct compressions and adequate ventilation, directly impacts survival. After recovery, post-arrest care is essential to ensure neurological recovery and stabilization of the patient.
