Abstract

Discuss the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding for the child's health, and show acceptance of the instructions given by the health professional. This is an integrative review based on a qualitative study using the search for scientific productions from 2019 to 2024 in the databases, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Virtual Health Library of the Ministry of Health - VHL. It is observed that exclusive breastfeeding is essential to protect and prepare the baby's body, and provide immunological protection, in addition to bringing benefits to the mother. It is important that public policies are implemented to promote and support breastfeeding, ensuring that mothers have access to accurate information and adequate support to make informed decisions about feeding their children.
