This article sought to present different strategies and interventions used in prenatal programs around the world, emphasizing the importance of rapid testing for syphilis, adequate counseling, timely treatment and monitoring of pregnant women and their partners. This is a literature review with a qualitative approach where scientific productions were searched in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) for articles relating to the specified topic, in addition to instruments from the Ministry of Health itself and in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) database. using the descriptors: “Congenital syphilis, prenatal care and health promotion”, from the periods from 2019 to 2024. It was observed that adequate prenatal care and assistance to pregnant and postpartum women is necessary to comply with some indicators, including the gestational age (GA) at which monitoring begins, have at least 6 (six) consultations throughout the pregnancy, carry out a consultation up to 42 days postpartum, also carry out Syphilis and HIV tests, which are rapid tests or laboratory tests. There is a continued need for public health policies aimed at promoting comprehensive and accessible prenatal care, with an emphasis on prevention, early detection and effective treatment of syphilis during pregnancy.
