The present work aims to analyze labor inspection, focusing on municipalities in the interior, especially in relation to cases of work analogous to slavery. Based on bibliographical research, consultation of articles, laws and other relevant sources, the aim is to explore the lack of supervision in small cities in the interior and exploitation in the workplace. The term "inspect" refers to inspecting and verifying, and in this context, the importance of observing legal standards is highlighted. In Brazil, labor relations are regulated by the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT), which establishes standards to protect workers. The Labor Secretariat, through the Subsecretariat for Labor Inspection (SIT), is responsible for formulating and guiding labor inspection guidelines. It is the duty of the SIT, a body of great social relevance and essential for the functioning of the Brazilian State, to develop regulations for workers' health and safety standards. Furthermore, an analysis was carried out of the activities of the labor inspector in combating slave labor. The current staff working to monitor labor irregularities is also discussed, questioning the reduced number of effective inspectors, which goes against Convention No. 81 of the International Labor Organization (ILO), of which Brazil is a signatory.
