LAGOON OF THE PANELAS: A REALITY TO BE MODIFIED

Abstract

Lagoa de Panelas is located in the center of the city of Bom Jesus-RN. It is a rainwater catchment lagoon that smuggles sewage from nearby residences and commercial establishments, which due to lack of policies environmental education of the municipality, becomes increasingly polluted. Another aggravating factor is the lack of sensitization of the population that deposits solid waste in the lagoon, especially on the days when the fair is open, because the fair and fair attendants throw the waste produced on the banks of the lagoon. In an attempt to change this reality, activities that promote social mobilization were held together with the students of the 9th Municipal School of Alice Garcia Freire, alerting the importance of preserving the Lagoa de Panelas in an attempt to sensitize the local society through illustrative posters.
