Abstract

Adherence to treatment is a crucial factor for the effective management of chronic diseases, significantly impacting clinical outcomes and patients’ quality of life. This study aims to analyze strategies to improve treatment adherence in clinical consultations, focusing on four main areas: patient education, psychological support, technological interventions, and communication enhancement. The integrative review of relevant studies revealed that patient education, when combined with psychological support and supportive technologies, can substantially improve treatment adherence. Furthermore, effective communication between health professionals and patients is essential to promote engagement and collaboration in the management of chronic conditions. The integration of these strategies offers a robust model to address the complexities of treatment adherence. However, the implementation of these approaches faces practical challenges, such as the need for personalization and overcoming technological barriers. The review suggests that future research should focus on optimizing these strategies and identifying solutions to the practical challenges associated with treatment adherence in chronic diseases.
