Introduction: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition highly prevalent in childhood, significantly impacting the quality of life of patients and their families. The clinical variability and diagnostic challenges make its management complex. Objective: This study aims to review the recent literature on the clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects of atopic dermatitis in pediatrics. Methods: A systematic search of the scientific literature from 2009 to 2024 was conducted in the PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases. A total of 17 studies addressing the etiological, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects of AD in children were included. Results and Discussion: The prevalence of AD varies globally, being higher in developed countries. Diagnosis is challenging due to clinical variability, but advances in biomarkers and imaging techniques have improved diagnostic accuracy. Therapeutic management has evolved with the introduction of biological therapies, while caregiver education is essential for long-term success. Early diagnosis and personalized treatment are crucial for therapeutic efficacy. Conclusion: Atopic dermatitis in pediatrics requires an integrated and multidisciplinary approach. Advances in therapies and caregiver education are fundamental to improving patients' quality of life, highlighting the importance of continuous research and the development of new therapeutic strategies.
