Motherhood, one of the most profound and transformative experiences of human life, faces new challenges and meanings in the 21st century. Psychology, as a science of behavior and mental processes, plays a crucial role in understanding this complexity, offering tools to deal with the hormonal, emotional and social transformations that permeate the maternal journey. The present study, of a qualitative and exploratory nature, sought to investigate the experience of motherhood in a city in the interior of Goiás, focusing on the experiences of academic women. The research, carried out over two weeks, involved questions and answers left at a strategic point in the college. The research results revealed that motherhood in the interior of Goiás is marked by a series of challenges, such as: the difficulty in reconciling professional life with motherhood, social pressure to be a "perfect mother" and the scarcity of services mental health professionals specializing in perinatal issues. Psychology has proven to be a valuable tool to help women deal with the challenges of motherhood, offering emotional support, information about child development and strategies for coping with stress and anxiety. Psychology, as a science and profession, has a fundamental role to play in supporting women on this journey.
