This article aims to analyze the concept of individuation proposed by Carl Gustav Jung, through the short story Vasalisa, from the work Women who run with the wolves, in which the female psyche (inserted in a patriarchal culture), has the possibility of traveling an initiation journey with the purpose of awakening the “Wild Woman Archetype” which represents the “Ego-Self” integration whose characteristics are creativity, spontaneity and freedom of being in the world. It is concluded that diving into the depths (unconscious), internalizing, seeking, and producing the necessary insights is creating an ego/self-internalization movement, giving rise to the intuitive self and, thus, strengthening confidence for a new way of being and being in the world.
