Slave-like work is a serious violation of Human Rights, where individuals are forced to work under degrading conditions, with little or no pay, without the freedom to leave their jobs. This practice, in addition to being immoral and legally reprehensible, is often associated with a series of health risks and physical injuries for workers. In the context of work analogous to slavery in the 21st century, the anthropological approach can be fundamental to understanding the circumstances surrounding cases of this type of work, providing emphases that go beyond health aspects, also addressing the social and cultural conditions that contribute for exploitation, which can help identify victims and define legal responsibilities. The fight against slave labor is an ongoing effort that requires collaboration between governments, NGOs, companies and civil society to protect rights and ensure decent working conditions for all. Eradicating this practice requires rigorous supervision, strong legislation and effective awareness campaigns. Modern communication technologies are powerful tools to denounce and combat this contemporary form of slavery, ensuring that all workers can live and work with dignity and freedom.
