This paper addresses the adoption by same-sex couples in Brazil, representing a significant advancement in the recognition of rights. The primary objective of this work is to analyze the multiple aspects involving adoption by homosexual couples, aiming to demystify erroneous and prejudiced concepts and to evaluate whether there are objective justifications for not allowing adoption by these couples. The justification for addressing adoption by homosexual couples lies in the fact that it is a topic of great social relevance, as it directly relates to the rights to equality, dignity, and the protection of children and youth, fundamental values provided for in the Federal Constitution. The methodology used was a bibliographic review, employing various investigative techniques. The first step involved identifying and selecting relevant sources of information, such as scientific articles, books, theses and dissertations, technical reports, and other pertinent materials in the field of study. This legal framework has been fundamental in ensuring equal rights, providing children and adolescents the possibility of being welcomed into loving and stable homes, regardless of family compositio advancements and challenges.
