This article addresses the historical threshold of human rights, their dissemination, and their modifications over time. The text attempts to compile the exposition of historical facts and doctrines that highlight the evolution of human rights. The main objective is to visualize how the emergence of human rights occurred based on specialized literature, to outline historical facts in chronological order that were fundamental for the current establishment of human rights, to discuss the social movements that gave rise to these rights, to present brief comments, and, subsidiarily, to attempt to conceptualize human rights and point out their unique characteristics. The method used was bibliographic, with sources from both digital and physical texts, given the extensive publication on the topic. It was concluded that a significant part of the human rights expansion movements were preceded by tragic events, where minimal natural rights were violated.
