This article aims to analyze the amount of mammograms that were performed in the pandemic years, expecting a certain reduction, and to verify if after the end of this period there was a return to the practice of exams again. This study is characterized by a descriptive epidemiological study, with data obtained by the Health Information System of the Ministry of Health (DATASUS). When analyzing these data, a significant decrease is observed, about 45% less when compared to the years 2019 and 2020. In 2021 there was an increase in the number of tests performed, but the virus was still with a high rate of transmission and it can be related to the increase in the number of cases reported per week soon after the increase of mammograms performed each month, showing that interpersonal contact has a strong relationship with disease transmission. In 2022, there was an abrupt decrease in the notification of this and an increase in the number of mammograms performed. In 2023 there was the decree of the end of the pandemic times and, as expected, the number of mammographic examinations performed exceeded all pandemic years and also the pre-pandemic awareness of the female population in carrying out this examination so essential for a good prognosis and better quality of life during illness.
