This study aimed to analyze the variation in the number of cases of malignant breast neoplasms and in situ breast carcinoma in the Southern region of Brazil from 2018 to 2022. Breast neoplasms represent the leading cause of female death in the South, which has the second-highest national rate of diagnoses. Using data from the Department of Health Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS), the article analyzed temporal patterns and correlations between neoplasms and demographic and socioeconomic factors. The results revealed a gradual increase in the incidence of both types of cancer over the studied years. Additionally, regional variations influenced by factors such as age, access to health services, and socioeconomic status were observed. The discussion of the study emphasizes that understanding the temporal trends and determinants of these diseases is essential for promoting effective interventions and improving health outcomes for the affected population.
