ANALYSIS OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSIBILITY IN THE INCREASE OF FOOD INSECURITY IN THE BRAZILIAN AMAZON FROM 2019 TO 2022

This article examines the Brazilian federal government's responsibility for the increase in food insecurity in the Amazon from 2019 to 2022, highlighting the contrast between the region's natural wealth and the food poverty of its populations. Food insecurity is approach hed as a complex phenomenon, influenced by socioeconomic, environmental and political factors, and the need for an integrated approach that promotes food security and sustainable development is high lighted. Through documentary analysis of government policies and bibliographical review, the study criticizes government actions, such as the extinction of CONSEA and the reduction of support programs for family farming, seen as setbacks in the fight against hunger. It is proposed to restructure public policies and revitalize vital programs for food security in the Amazon, emphasizing the importance of the federal government's role in guaranteeing the human right to adequate food and implementing urgent measures to ensure universal access to food nutritious foods, especially for the most vulnerable populations in the region.
