Objective – This study aimed to assess the predisposition and sensitization to COVID-19 infection and Acute Myocardial Infarction. Methods- Thirty scientific article were analyzed, meeting the inclusion criteria of this study and found on the LILACS, SCIELO, and PUBMED websites. The descriptors used were COVID-19 AND Acute Myocardial Infarction, pandemic AND cardiovascular disease. Results- It was identified that women are more susceptible to Acute Myocardial Infarction, with the most affected age group being above 40 years. Among the main causes are sedentary lifestyle, poor nutrition, smoking, anxiety, and myocarditis caused by COVID-19. In women, hormonal factors also increase the risks of AMI. Conclusion- In the 30 articles analyzed by this study, the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the increase in cases of Acute Myocardial Infarction was confirmed, either directly causing myocarditis or indirectly through habits acquired during the pandemic.
