The indiscriminate use of many medications means that the pharmacist must pay special attention to the appearance of interactions and the evolution of their possible consequences. This is especially important in elderly patients, children and pregnant women, the latter being the focus of a large number of studies due to their complexity. Thus, the research had the general objective of describing, through a bibliographical review, the role of the pharmacist in monitoring and during the gestational period. The specific objectives were: Describe the main drugs used during pregnancy; Highlight and outline the pharmaceutical profile in the care of pregnant patients; Assess the prevalence and factors associated with the use of medications during the gestational period and the importance of professional monitoring during the pharmacotherapeutic process during pregnancy. Bibliographical research was used, originating from publications in the Databases). This way, the clinical pharmacist can safely prescribe medication without a medical prescription or refer patients to a doctor.
