THE ROLE OF THE PHARMACIST IN COMBATING DENGUE WITH GUIDANCE ON THE IMPORTANCE OF VACCINE CONTROL

Dengue is a challenge for public health management, it has signs such as high fever in its abrupt onset, which can evolve into a more serious condition. The pharmaceutical professional plays a promising role in the fight against dengue. This article shows the importance of the pharmacist in the health control of the disease, with health education strategies, raising awareness among the population about self- medication and the rational use of medicines, thus generating safe and effective therapy, in addition to preventive practices, as an incentive for vaccination coverage for disease control. A bibliographic review methodology was used, using books, magazines and scientific articles, in the SciELO, MEDLINE, LILACS and BIREME databases with the purpose of deepening the understanding of the topic. It was concluded, therefore, that the collaboration of the pharmacist is essential for the success of dengue control and prevention strategies and for promoting the health of the population.
