Abstract

Regime progression plays a fundamental role in the resocialization journey of convicts, offering a vital opportunity for their reintegration into society. In view of the above, this study is based on the following question: how does the implementation of the progression of the penal regime influence the resocialization of convicts and the reduction of criminal recidivism? The issue of resocialization of convicts and criminal recidivism has important social implications. Furthermore, this study's general objective is to understand how the progression of the criminal regime can influence these aspects. It is essential for the development of strategies aimed at reducing crime and promoting public safety. To achieve this objective, the following specific objectives will be persecuted: (1) analyze the effectiveness of resocialization programs offered during the progression of the criminal regime in preparing convicts for reintegration into society; (2) evaluate the impact of criminal regime progression on the criminal recidivism rate of released individuals; (3) identify the factors that influence the success or failure of the resocialization of convicts during the criminal regime progression process, including institutional, social and individual aspects. Added to this, regarding methodology, this analysis consists of a literature review. By identifying effective resocialization practices, communities can work to more effectively reintegrate ex-convicts, providing them with opportunities to contribute positively to society and reducing the stigma associated with their criminal history.
