Abstract

The present study aimed to analyze the population's perception of the participatory budget in the municipalities of Iguatu, Icó and Orós, exploring the effectiveness and challenges of this citizen participation mechanism. Using questionnaires, we collected data that revealed significant knowledge about participatory budgeting among residents, but also highlighted areas for improvement, especially in terms of outreach and community engagement. This study contributes to the understanding of participatory budgeting, highlighting the importance of strategies that promote greater awareness, inclusion and continuous communication with the community.
