Abstract

This article analyzes strategies to combat the promotion of drug use among children and adolescents in digital media. The qualitative research, based on a literature review, contextualizes the influence of digital platforms on young people's behavior and identifies forms of advocacy for illicit substances in these media. Children and adolescents are exposed to messages that glamorize drug consumption, normalizing harmful behaviors. The results indicate that the lack of parental monitoring and the permissiveness of digital platforms contribute to the negative impact of these messages on young people. The literature review highlighted the importance of educational strategies, such as digital literacy, and the need for stricter regulation of digital platforms. The article concludes with practical recommendations for creating a safer and healthier digital environment, reinforcing collaboration between families, schools, government, and civil society in effectively combating the promotion of drug use in digital media.
