DENTAL TECHNIQUES IN THEIR RELATION TO CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION AND EXPERIENCE

Abstract

The research will be limited to the study of the resources used by forensic dentists in forensic analysis with the aim of understanding their influence on criminal investigation and expertise and their relationship with due legal process. In forensic practice, the role of the forensic dentist has stood out, whose professional practice is provided for by Law No. 5,081/66 and Resolution No. 63/05 of the CFO. Through expertise, coroners seek to find elements through which they can present a valid position on something that they intend to prove by seeking, in this way, proof of the facts through investigation, by ascertaining the real truth. Thus, it emphasizes the importance of dental legal expertise for the Brazilian criminal process, developed as a means of proof for factual elucidation related to the dispute, especially regarding the clarification of the facts imputed to the accused, by highlighting the search for the real truth essential to the formation of the magistrate's conviction. before handing down the sentence. The work will be developed following the precepts of exploratory study, through bibliographical research, which will be carried out based on a literature review, whose sources will consist of books, laws and scientific studies published between 2012 and 2024 and chosen on the Google platform Academic. Through this study, it is expected to contribute to the training of the forensic dentist, in addition to promoting the expert process and encouraging expert reports to be carried out properly after the analysis of the case analyzed.
