Abstract

The text highlights the growingimportance of shared custody in the post-divorcefamilycontext, highlightingitshistoricalevolution and legal changesrelated to divorce, to provide a deeperunderstanding of the impact of this custody model on families and children. custody in Brazil, with an emphasis on shared custody, whichallowsseparatedparents to remaininvolved in their children's lives, sharing responsibilities and legal rights. Additionally, it addresseschallengesfaced by parents in shared custody, such as the need for effectivecommunication and logisticalcoordination, and the issue of parental alienation in cases of sole custody. Highlights legislativeadvances to protect children's rights, making shared custodymandatory to avoid parental alienation. Finally, it highlights the importance of the new legislation, alwaysseeking to prioritize the child'sinterests and promote a healthy environment for theirdevelopment, evenafter the parents' separation.
