PREVENTION ACTION AND EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF CERVICAL CANCER – INTEGRATIVE LITERATURE REVIEW

The cervical cancer (CC) is a public health problem in Brazil, being the third most common tumor in the women population (except the non-melanoma cancer) and the fourth cause of women dying from cancer in the country. Therefore, this study had the objective to realize the scientific production survey related to the strategies aiming prevention and early diagnosis of CC. It was treated to an integrative literature review through the databases Virtual Health Library and the Google Scholar, made in March 2024 with 17 articles in total. The results found in this study detached the following thematic areas: “Early diagnosis of cervical cancer: importance, weaknesses and fortress” (6) “Knowledge and education in health to cervical cancer prevention” (6) and “Nurse’s role in cervical cancer prevention and early diagnosis (5). It is concluded, therefore, that the studies analyzed evidenced the advances and challenges regarding the cervical cancer preventives practices, detaching the importance of expanding the professional and women's knowledge regarding the topic in question. In addition, it was emphasized the importance of nurse professionals in disease’s prevention and control, especially focused on health education, nursing appointments, immunization and cytopathological exam collection.
